Aviator Tom Gunn made several short flights as part of the Flying Exhibition Koloa HI. At the request of John Gribble (Hawaiian Philatelist) Gunn carried mail on one of these flights. After its aerial ascent the mail was taken to the post office a few days later for processing.

Aviator Silas Christofferson was hired to attempt a flight over Mount Whitney (14,495 feet) as a publicity attraction for the Inyo Good Roads Aviation Program Bishop CA. He was not immediately successful but finally made it over the mountain on June 26, 1914. Christofferson's mechanic, Claude French posted some post cards to his family in Los Angeles CA but it is not known whether this mail was flown by his boss and is assumed to be unflown.

The Postmasters of four cities (Celoron, Benus Point, Chautauqua & Mayville) all located on Chautauqua Lake NY authorized the exchange of mail between these lakeside cities by hydroplane. Aviator Alfred J Engel made several inter-lake flights carrying passengers and mail.

FAIR GROUNDS AVIATION EXHIBITION        Clayton NM

The wife of Aviator Calbraith Rogers, Mabel Rogers formed the Rodgers Aviation Company. This company organized flights durning exhibition events. Rogers Aviation aviator J Floyd Smith flew from the Fair Grounds to a point near the Clayton Post Office where he dropped the mail from the plane. The mail was then retrieved and taken to the post office.

EXPERIMENTAL AEROPLANE MAIL FLIGHT        Des Moines IA ~ Chicago IL

The Postmaster of Des Moines IA unofficially authorized the aerial transport of mail between Des Moines IA and Chicago IL. Aviator William G Robinson flying an aeroplane designed by the Grinnell Aeroplane Company flew from Des Moines IA landing in Kentland IN after losing his way. The next day he took off heading for Chicago IL but in route experienced mechanical problems causing him to land in Momence IL delaying his arrival at Cicero Airfield Chicago until October 20th.

PIKE COUNTY AVIATION DEMONSTRATION        Troy AL

The Postmaster of Troy AL authorized the aerial transport of mail from the Pike County Fair Troy AL. Aviator Katherine Stinson flew from the Fair Grounds about fifteen miles to a spot near the Troy Post Office where she dropped the mail from the plane. The mail was then retrieved and taken to the post office.
